The room

So can you see that Brantley's room is a little bit crowded?
Charlie is helping to nail in some nails.
Dusty is starting on the decking for the floor of the room.

Here is the finished decking as of day 2 the room is on its way to being finished.

4th of July

Every year we go to Dusty's Parents for the 4th. This year was no different.
Charlie popped party poppers with her dad.
She played in the pool with her cousin Gant.

Charlie chased bubbles with a new friend Nafisa. Boy what a busy day.

Pregnancy crazies

I feel so bad for my husband. I am at the point in my pregnancy that I am going crazy. I want to have everything ready, ya know planned and really who can plan on when the baby is going to be here. Ridiculous I know. We have a little over 7 weeks left and I won't have his room ready for another 4 weeks. Dusty will start the room the week of July 15th. So I just have all this stuff jammed into the poor kids room....Sorry sweety.

Slip and Slide

So we went to Gant's birthday party. Dusty took the car and diaper bag to his parents so when it was time to get in the water Charlie didn't have her swim suit...so what does a 2 year old do? Borrow her cousins spiderman underwear of course. I know she won't be able to do this for very much longer but she sure does look cute. And of course she really wanted nothing to do with the slip and slide but Gant on the other hand... He sure loved it.

Those things he says...

There are so many times that I ask Dusty to tell me why he loves me or why he married me and it drives him crazy. He hates it! He also hates me it when I want him to tell me about work. Well yesterday he did both without even me asking. I was tell him about some friends who are working away from a divorce. It will be a long road but they are willing to walk it. He told me about a conversation with two of his coworkers. First before the story I have to lay some foundation: My husband is a FLIRT. It has never bothered me because he is very respectful and uplifting in his flirting. If that makes any sense at all. If a girl looks nice he will tell her. That always made me feel good before we were dating. It has never bothered me when he flirts. So back to the story: Dusty told me that he was flirting with the new intern. She got angry and said, "Doesn't that ring mean anything to you?"
"This ring means everything to me."
"Does your wife know you flirt?"
"Yes, and she doesn't mind. She knows that I am going home to her. "
"If my fiancee did that I would leave him."
"Don't you trust him."
"No."
"Then why are you marrying him?"
"I love him."
Dusty then went on his soap box (and I love him for this) "Marriage isn't just about love. It is about trust and commitment. There will be times where you don't like your husband/wife but that doesn't mean that you don't love them."
After their conversation he went out back with another coworker who had been in on the first conversation. The two guys continued the talk...well, Dusty continued to rant at least.
He told his friend (and this is the part that just takes my breath away) "I honestly believe that God put Amy on this earth just for me and I was put here just for her." He told me the rest of the conversation but who was listening. He took my breath away. I want to remember that he told some random person that he works with this little fact. I want to remember that he feels this way because he doesn't always remember to tell me things like this. He tells me he loves me but not always why.

Grams and Papa's 50th

We were very busy this weekend. We went to Arkansas for my grandparents 50th anniversary ....It was a great day. Charlie hugged Kaleb so hard he almost fell down. We got some nice family pictures with the family that was there. We were missing JC, Shelly, Jeremy, Austin, Katie, Justin, Randy, Nancy, Alex, Jarrett and Sarah, and Chase

Papa says that he is never sleeping... when Charlie woke him up he did reply "I was just inspecting the insides of my eyelids." We had a great weekend.

Because I'm From God

Charlie and I have this summer system. I wake up to go to the bathroom and some how she knows that I am awake and comes running in the bathroom. Usually it is somewhere around 6 am and I tell her that it is not time to wake up so she goes and plays in her room or goes back to sleep to around 8:30 when the alarm goes off. But this morning was different. I went to the bathroom as usual but she was already up. I figured that she was in the kitchen and would be to the bathroom when she realized that I was up. Sure enough she came running down the hall threw her arms around my neck and said "I love you mommy." I returned her sentiment of love with a laugh and asked, "Why are you in such a good mood this morning?" And her answer is one of the greatest pieces of wisdom..."Because I'm from God."
